Background
I have seen and realized that in our country most of the people live in rural area, but overwhelmingly health care service organization situated in the urban area. Rural peoples are bound to come in the city to take health care service. Most of the time they don’t know the schedule of doctor. So, they have to visit hospital or health care service center and often do not get doctor's appointment. As a result they fall in a troublesome situation. Most of them do not have any ability to stay in town for an extra day to get doctor's appointment. For this reason, they go back home with more illness and hope to return later on. But mostly they don’t get any opportunity to visit the doctor as they pass away for illness.
Introduction:
Nowadays, technology has changed many aspects of life and people’s daily life is becoming indivisible from the network due to the development of Internet. With Online Appointment system for medical services, the process gets much faster, more efficient and helpful than traditional way. Online Appointment system for medical services allows the system administer to access and manage the database online, quickly pull data and create strong reports right form the online Appointment system with most practical to find the fastest information, instead of having to maintain and manage separate data files, folders and spreadsheets. They simply navigate to the system just like a Web Site. The data will be housed securely and safely online.
Scope and Objective
The scope of this project will focus on the patients, doctors and hospitals who will use the system, to make and manage the appointment via online service. This project will be implemented and useful for all hospitals, doctors and patients. The prototype can be used by the doctor and hospital to manage the appointment for the patients those who would like to have the appointment for the doctor in specific place (hospital or clinic) date via online system anytime and anywhere. Patient can able to take two type of appointment as emergency and consult.
The proposed system will save effort, time and money of patients from waiting to make the appointment as well as reduce the work of the doctor and the hospital or clinic to access to check report and easier way to manage the appointment. The doctor and the hospital or clinic needs to maintain the record of patients. Patients should be able to know the schedule availability on a particular date.
Module
In this project, the patient, the doctor and the hospital or clinic all will play as a role of user. But all users have specific privileges.
Patient:
The patient can easily see the schedule to make an
appointment (for oneself and non-user), and can see
appointed schedule.
Doctor:
The doctor can easily update, delete and add the
patients’ information, appointment schedule and record
of patients’ who has booked to get a treatment under him.
Hospital:
The hospital or clinic can easily update, delete and add
the patients’ and doctors’ information, appointment
schedule and records of patient and doctor who have
taken appointment on that hospital.

System Implementation
To implement the web based application for the proposed system, I first start with developing Web Forms applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery. I choose PHP as a programming language for the whole system, and MySQL for the database management.
